Write Custom Skill Packages

How it works

Custom Skills contain two kinds of files, fully compatible with the Claude Skills standard:

File	Required	Purpose
SKILL.md	✅	Skill definition: YAML frontmatter defines the name, description, and parameters; the body contains the main prompt
Supporting resources	Optional	Templates, references, and other files, included in the .zip package

Two upload methods are supported:

1. .md file: For a single-file Skill, drag SKILL.md into the upload dialog.
2. .zip archive: For complex Skills, the .zip root must contain SKILL.md.

After upload, the system automatically parses SKILL.md, extracts its name, description, and parameters, and creates a draft. Parsing progress is displayed, such as "Parsing xxx...", followed by the Skill details page.

Upload and maintenance

Upload

Skill Center → Upload Skill at the top → drop a .md or .zip file → wait for parsing → open the draft.

Reparse

Use Reparse SKILL.md on the details page after editing the file to update its name, description, and parameters.

Submit for Approval / Publish

Draft Skills require administrator approval when an approval flow is configured before everyone can use them.

Associate Positions

Associate specific positions on the details page so the Skill can be invoked in their Chats even without publishing to everyone.

Claude Skills ecosystem compatibility

WinNexo's Skill format is fully compatible with the Claude Skills standard. Package an existing Claude Skills repository, including open-source Skills on GitHub, as a zip and upload it without conversion. This means:

• Community Skills can be reused directly.
• SKILL.md files written in Claude Code or Cursor can be transferred to WinNexo.
• The same SKILL.md can run in both Claude and WinNexo.
