Compress or Clear Context

The context-usage entry in the input area shows current consumption. Open it to see the usage percentage, amount used, and context-window size, then decide whether to compress or clear based on remaining space. Compress when the chat is near its limit but the same work must continue; clear when you are ready to discuss an unrelated new task.

Context Usage

Compress Context

Compression summarizes the existing chat, retains key information needed later, and consumes Credit. You cannot send new messages during compression. When it finishes, the chat shows “Context Compressed.” Compression is unavailable when the chat is short or the Digital Worker is still answering. Before continuing, check that the summary includes the goal, constraints, and key conclusions.

Clear Context

Clearing inserts a context boundary in the current chat. Earlier messages remain visible, but the Digital Worker no longer uses them in subsequent answers; this does not delete chat history. Context cannot be cleared while the Digital Worker is answering.

Compression and clearing are also available on mobile. In an IM Channel bot session, enter “Clear Context” or /clear to clear it, and “Compress Context” or /compress to compress it. To preserve the old task while starting a completely new one, create a new chat.
