Manage Concurrency Quotas

Manage concurrency quotas

Concurrency quotas limit simultaneously running tasks. Under Platform Management → Usage → Concurrency Quota Management, configure allocation between spaces and individuals and adjust each space's or member's limit.

Set the allocation method

The "Allocate by Ratio" switch controls how spaces and individuals use total tenant concurrency:

  • On: Split capacity into space and personal pools by the configured ratio. Pools are independent and cannot borrow idle capacity from each other. Click Adjust Ratio and save to change the split.
  • Off: Spaces and individuals share total tenant concurrency. The previous ratio is retained and restored when re-enabled.

Space and personal limits remain effective in either mode and can still be edited individually or in bulk.

Set default and individual limits

Use the Space and Personal tabs to manage space and member limits. All tasks within a space count against that space's concurrency, not the creator's or operator's personal concurrency.

The initial default limit is 10 for both spaces and individuals. Existing configurations are retained. New spaces and members use the default at creation time. Changing the default affects only future additions; adjust existing entries individually or in bulk.

Each space or member can use:

  • Fixed limit: Restricts the number of tasks running simultaneously for that space or member.
  • Unlimited: Adds no individual cap; actual usage remains limited by the pool capacity or total tenant concurrency.

Fixed and unlimited settings can coexist. The sum of individual limits may exceed total capacity. A limit does not reserve resources or guarantee that much capacity will always be available.

Effective concurrency limit

With ratio allocation enabled, the effective limit is the smaller of the configured limit and the relevant pool capacity. With it disabled, it is the smaller of the configured limit and total tenant concurrency.

For example, a space with a limit of 20 in a pool of 15 can run at most 15 tasks concurrently. All entries in the pool also share its overall capacity limit. Without separate pools, all spaces and members share the tenant-wide limit.

Bulk adjustments

Select spaces or members, then use "Set Unlimited in Bulk" or "Adjust Limits in Bulk". These actions affect only selected entries, leaving defaults and unselected entries unchanged.

A fixed limit must be an integer of at least 1 and no greater than current capacity: the relevant pool capacity when pools are enabled, or total tenant concurrency otherwise.

Capacity changes and over-limit notices

After changing the ratio, allocation method, or tenant entitlements, new executions follow the updated capacity while configured limits are retained.

Limits exceeding current capacity appear in red. Hover to view the reason and effective limit. To save an edit, enter a valid value or select Unlimited. Unlimited entries automatically follow current capacity.

Lowering a limit does not force running tasks to stop. Once usage reaches or exceeds the new limit, new executions pause. Tasks that support waiting are queued until running tasks finish and release capacity.

Relationship to task-type allocation

The "Allocate by Task Type" switches for individuals and spaces operate independently of the tenant's "Allocate by Ratio" switch. Existing time periods and ratios remain unchanged. Capacity per task type is recalculated from the space's or member's current effective concurrency limit.
