Ontology Specifications

When maintaining multiple semantic graphs, agree on naming and business-description requirements first, then check published content for consistency.

Use semantic specifications to turn team standards into repeatable checks that help identify semantic definitions needing correction.

Maintain team specifications in Ontology → Ontology Specifications. For draft validation and publication, see Validate and Publish.

Define Team Standards

In the Specification Library, create specifications covering all semantic definitions or selected ones.

Describe Requirements

Click New Specification, describe the team's requirements in natural language, and click Organize with AI.

Check the Scope

Review the specification level, applicable elements, scope, and requirements. Add positive and negative examples where needed to avoid applying business-specific rules to all semantic definitions.

Save and Enable

Click Save Specification Draft, review the content, then enable it in the list. New drafts are disabled by default. Built-in specifications cannot be edited, and mandatory built-in specifications cannot be disabled.

Check Published Semantics

Click Check Now, select the target ontology, and view the results in Check Records. Checks cover only published versions. Review drafts separately before publication.
