Knowledge Bases

Enterprise Knowledge Bases centralize approved resources and control access for positions and members. Administrators create bases, connect sources, manage synchronization and submission approvals, and authorize appropriate positions to use the knowledge.

  1. Create a Knowledge Base

Create an enterprise knowledge space and configure its basic information.

  2. Add Knowledge Sources

Add files, online documents, web pages, or external Knowledge Bases.

  3. Manage Categories and Synchronization

Organize directories and manage source synchronization and updates.

  4. Associate Positions

Select positions that can retrieve and reference this Knowledge Base.

  5. Manage Knowledge Base Administrators

Assign administrators to maintain content and process approvals.

Understand this capability

A Knowledge Base has four layers:

plaintext

Each knowledge item is parsed into searchable document chunks and linked to its Knowledge Base and category. A position can retrieve it only if the position is associated with that Knowledge Base.

Knowledge Base management provides two core views:

ViewPurpose
List view (default)View all Knowledge Bases; create, edit, delete, and associate positions
Details viewA category tree on the left and knowledge list on the right for daily directory and content maintenance
